From consumer to prosumer

You put solar on the roof, or a battery in the garage, or both. You did it to keep the lights on during load shedding, mostly. Maybe to save money on the bill too. Things have changed now and are you getting the most out of your investment? You're producing now, and storing, and you ought to have a say in what happens to all of that. Most prosumers don't, in practice. The system gets installed once, configured for security, and runs on those settings for years. Your inverter pulls grid power at peak rates while there's solar capacity going unused. Your battery sits half-charged through cheap hours and half-discharged through expensive ones. The geyser comes on whenever it feels like it.
